The stones and minerals have been used

in the breast plates of high priests and

adorned high priestesses.  There beauty

and mystery has fascinated everyone.

Shamans, wisewomen and laymen alike have

used them for their magical and healing powers.

Scientist have used them for communication

equipment and computers.  The piezo electric effect

of crystals lights the backyard grill and are used

in healing devices.  So, there is no question that

there is precedent for our use of crystals in healing

and how when used with Reiki they boost and are

boosted by the Reiki energy.

When we receive a crystal, the first thing

we want to do after admiring its beauty is to clean

it.  The nature of the crystal makes is susceptible

to collecting negative energy as well as giving off

positive energy.  Therefore routine cleaning is

important to keep the positive nature predominate 

To care for a crystal it has to be cleaned, charged,

activated and programmed if it is going to be a

working entity. 

            Cleaning/ cleansing crystals is multifaceted

it is to clean dust, dirt, body oils, etc., from the

surface, and it is to remove negative energy.  Water

is the universal cleaner, it can be cold running tap

water, water from a stream or a body of water such

as lake or pond or ocean. While cleansing negative

energy can be accomplished in many ways: 

smudging with sage, sweet grass or incense.

Soaking completely covered in sea salt and water

(15 minutes- 24 hours, 2 tbls/cup or 1cup/quart.

  Rinse with fresh water and dry with clean cotton

cloth) is very commonly used, it will clean the

surface electrons without disrupting the programming.

Also, they can be placed on a bed of crystal clusters.
“Beam white light form the area of the third-eye and

surround the crystal, sweeping any negativity to a

black hole which is filled with a white light; the

white light in the black hole transforms the negativity

to a positive light energy such that the negativity is

released from the existence.  Concentration and

is to use Reiki hands held horizontally and swung

in karate fashion over the stone, three times<!--[if !supportFootnotes]-->[2]<!--[endif]-->.

  If the negativity is still felt repeat the maneuver

with more intensity.  Another way is to soak the

crystal on a bed of flower pedals.

            Awaking/ activating a crystal can be

accomplished by impacting it on the beach sand,

sounding a meditation gong near it, or Tibetan

prayer bells, sing bowl, tingshas. “The stones are

activated in their light vibrations through the

concentrated light energy and the love from the

divine, universal source that radiates on its own

from our Reiki hands.”<!--[if !supportFootnotes]-->[3]<!--[endif]--> Once activated the crystal

is ready for charging. 

            There are various ways of charging a crystal

. They can be placed on large cluster of crystals or

in the center of a ring of crystals with the points

turned inward, placed in the sun light or moon light.

Also, hold them in Reiki hands with the intention of

charging them.

            Programming is a procedure to prepare the

crystal for some expressed purpose, protection,

increased awareness, healing, etc.  “Before

embedding a program, the quartz must be cleared

of any previous thoughts.  It should be held point

up in the left hand.  If it is too large for this, place

the crystal point up on a flat surface.  With the left

hand touching or covering the base, mentally direct

on imaginary beam of white light to flow through

the hand into the base, up through the body and

out the point. This light should then be passed

through the sides until it is intuitively felt that the

quartz has been cleared of any previous program-

ming.  Always use the color white for clearing as it

is the purest form of vibrational energy, representing

the sum total of all colors.  When cleared, the

crystal is like a blank tape ready for recording.”<!--[if !supportFootnotes]-->[4]<!--[endif]-->

            Program the crystal by formulating a precise

phrase of your intention.  Then hold the crystal in

your left hand, or place left hand on base, cup your

right hand over the point(s) and

maintain strict concentration of the phrase, then

repeat it 20 to 30 times, remember to remain

crystal clear on your intention.  Now detach from

the crystal and allow the universal energies to act.
